Redang holiday budget for two adults

What are the fixed fee lines for two adults?

The marine park fee is reported at RM5 per adult with a MyKad and RM30 without, from secondary sources ^[3]. For two adults that is RM10 with MyKad, or RM60 without ^[3].

These figures are small beside the room line, but they are easy to forget. Ask whether the fee is already in your price and confirm the amounts with the operator.

Which choices move the total most?

Three choices do most of the work. Here is how each one scales.

• Room tier. A higher tier costs more every night, so three nights multiply the gap by three, and five nights by five.
• Nights. Each extra night adds the nightly room rate plus the daily meal cost, so dropping a night removes both.
• Meal plan. Adding lunch and dinner costs a set amount per person per day, so two adults pay double that each day, and three days triple it.

How do you read a Redang package quote?

Which area changes the cost?

Pasir Panjang is the largest beach, with about half a dozen resorts, and Teluk Dalam and Teluk Kalong are other resort areas ^[5]. A beachfront room may cost more than one a walk away. Ask how far your room is from the beach you want.

When does the season change the price?

What should your cost sheet look like?

A simple sheet keeps the seven lines in front of you. Write the lines down the left side and one quote in each column to the right. Mark any line a quote leaves blank, and ask about it before you compare totals.
