How readers can send corrections

You spotted something on a page that looks wrong and want to tell us.

To send a correction, message us on WhatsApp with the word “Correction”, the page title, the sentence that looks wrong, what you think is right and where you saw it. We check it against a source and update the page if it is confirmed. A correction helps every reader after you, so we are glad to get them.

This is the quick route. The formal position is in corrections policy and how to report an error and our editorial policy.

What should a correction include?

Use this five-item template:

  1. The page title or web address.
  2. The sentence or figure that looks wrong.
  3. What you believe is correct.
  4. Where you saw it, such as a seller’s page, a quote or an official notice.
  5. When you saw it, because dates matter.

A screenshot of the page and of your source speeds things up. You do not need to be certain. A reader who says “my quote shows a different fee” is already useful to us.

What do we do with it?

We read the correction, find the source it relates to and check both. There are three outcomes:

  • If your source is more reliable or more recent, we update the page and the date beside the source.
  • If the two sources disagree, we say so on the page and mark the figure as to be confirmed.
  • If we cannot confirm either, we leave the page as it is and keep the note.

Our guide on how to read as-of dates explains the date, and why some figures are marked unverified explains the wording.

What can we not promise?

We cannot promise a reply time, because each correction needs a proper check. We also cannot promise to agree.

A seller’s single message may be right for your booking but not true in general. We tell you what we found and why.

We do not change a page to match one seller’s price. Prices vary by date and booking, so the written quote you hold is the figure that counts for you.

What does a good correction look like?

Here is an example you can copy and fill in:

  • Correction.
  • Page: the title of the page.
  • Line: the sentence you question.
  • What I think is right: your figure or wording.
  • Where I saw it: my written quote from the seller, screenshot attached.
  • Date seen: today’s date.

A message like this takes a minute to write and lets us check the point without asking you anything back.

Is a correction the same as a complaint?

No. A correction is about our page.

A complaint is about a booking with a seller. If your problem is with a seller, collect your records and read consumer protection and complaints for travel bookings.

If you are unsure which one you have, send it to us anyway and we will tell you which route fits.

A better fit if…

Sending a correction suits you if:

  • a fee, schedule or rule on our page differs from your written quote.
  • a link is broken or leads to the wrong page.
  • a sentence is confusing or reads wrongly in Malay or Chinese.

If you want to ask a general question instead, use the contact page.

What should you do next?

Take a screenshot of the page and your source, fill in the five items and send them on WhatsApp. If you are mid-booking, confirm the figure with your seller first, so you plan around the written quote while we check.

To send a correction, message us on WhatsApp with the page, the sentence and your source, and we will check it against ours.

Common questions

How do I send a correction?

Message us on WhatsApp and say "Correction", then give the page title or address, the sentence that looks wrong, what you think is right and where you saw it. A screenshot of the page and of your source helps us check faster.

How quickly will you reply?

We cannot promise a time, because each correction needs checking against a source. We will read it, check it and update the page if it is confirmed. If we cannot confirm it, we will say so and may mark the figure as to be confirmed.

What if my correction disagrees with the seller?

If a seller told you something different, send both the seller's written figure and our page. The seller's written quote is the figure that counts for your booking. We will check our source and update our page if needed.

Do you correct pages in all three languages?

Yes, when a fact is wrong, we aim to correct it in English, Malay and Chinese so the pages agree. Tell us which language you read and we will check the others.

Share your dates, group and budget per person, and we help you shortlist islands and resorts and prepare a written quotation.
