Hari Raya period island trips

Hari Raya weeks can raise island rates and fill rooms early. In 2027, Hari Raya Aidilfitri also lands in a school break and at the edge of the east-coast monsoon closure. Confirm the dates, the opening status and the festive premium, in that order.

When is Hari Raya in 2027?

One summary lists Hari Raya Aidilfitri on 10 and 11 March 2027 and Hari Raya Haji on 17 May, with 18 May in Kelantan and Terengganu ^[1]. The summary is a secondary source, and the dates depend on moon sighting.

Treat both as planning dates. Ask the resort whether its festive rates follow the gazetted holiday or its own festive calendar.

What else is happening on those dates?

Aidilfitri falls inside the first school break in 2027. One aggregator lists the break as 5 to 13 March for Group A and 6 to 14 March for Group B ^[2]. The Haji date sits near the mid-year break, listed from 21 May for Group A ^[2].

Is the island open?

A March trip is at the edge of the northeast monsoon, which most east-coast resorts treat as a closure until February or March. MetMalaysia announced the last monsoon only days before it began, so nobody can fix the end date far ahead ^[3].

A resort that reopens after Hari Raya may not run the festive week at all. A resort that reopens before it may be busy from the first day. Ask for the opening date in writing, and what refund or move applies if it shifts.

What operational questions does a festive week raise?

These are questions, not claims. We have no confirmed timetable for the festive week, so ask each one.

• Does the boat timetable change on the festive days?
• Are meals served at normal hours, and are any meals replaced by a festive menu?
• Is the road to the jetty busier, and how early should we leave?
• Are some staff or services away, and does the resort say so?
• Is there a prayer-time arrangement for guests who want one?

• you can book early and confirm the opening date.

5. What is the cancellation rule if the date shifts?
