Juara Mutiara Resort: what to confirm

You are drawn to the quieter east side of Tioman and want to see what is confirmed.

Juara Mutiara Resort is in Juara, one of the seven villages on Pulau Tioman, on the quieter east side. One listing describes it as two-star. Rooms, meal plans and season dates are questions for the resort.

Use this page with the Pulau Tioman island guide and our guide to Juara on Tioman.

What do we know?

Tioman has seven villages, including Tekek, Salang, Air Batang, Juara, Genting and Paya [1]. Juara is on the east side, away from the busier west coast villages.

For the resort, we have a village and a two-star listing. We did not find an official page, so room count, rates and meals are open.

What does the east side change for you?

Juara tends to be described as quieter, which can suit rest, reading and walks. It can also mean fewer shops and fewer dining choices beyond your resort.

Ask how you get to Juara from the ferry jetty, and whether the transfer is arranged by the resort. A longer or less frequent transfer affects your first and last day, so plan arrival and departure times with that in mind.

Reading a two-star listing

A star level is a clue to the price band, not a list of facilities. Two-star can mean a simple room with a fan, or a room with air conditioning, depending on the property.

Ask what the room has: air conditioning, hot water, a fridge, a private bathroom and a view. Ask whether towels and toiletries are provided. Put the answers in a table next to a higher-priced resort, so you see what the price difference buys.

Getting there

Ferries to Tioman leave from Mersing in Johor and Tanjung Gemok in Pahang, run by Bluewater Express and Cataferry [2]. Our sources do not confirm the crossing time.

Ask whether the ferry lands at Tekek and a second transfer continues to Juara. Read which Tioman village suits your trip for the wider picture.

Who might it suit?

It may suit you if you want a quiet east-side village, a simpler budget and time to unwind. Walkers and nature lovers may enjoy the area.

A resort on the west coast is a better fit if you want shops, plenty of places to eat and shorter transfers. We have not stayed here, so ask about the shops and food choices in Juara village, and how long the road or boat leg to Tekek takes.

How should you compare it with neighbours?

Compare it with Paya Beach Spa & Dive Resort and Berjaya Tioman Resort on the same lines.

Use the cost calculator once the quotations arrive.

Tell us your dates and how you feel about a longer transfer to the east side, and we will help you ask Juara Mutiara for a quotation that is clear about the route and the meals.

Common questions

Where is Juara Mutiara Resort?

It is listed in Juara, one of the seven villages on Tioman, on the quieter east side of the island. Ask how you reach Juara from the ferry jetty, who arranges that last leg, and how late the last transfer runs on arrival and departure days.

What does a two-star listing mean?

One listing describes the resort as two-star. Treat that as a hint about price level, not a promise of facilities. Ask what the room has, whether there is air conditioning and hot water, and which meals are included, then compare line by line.

Is Juara good for a quiet stay?

Juara is described as the quieter side of Tioman, but we have not stayed there and cannot promise quiet. Ask the resort about nearby music, generators and walkways, and read our village guide for what the area is like. Keep the reply with your booking so everyone in your group sees the same facts.
