Overnight in Semporna before the islands

A night in Semporna helps if you land in Tawau in the afternoon or evening, travel with children, or have a morning boat. You may skip it if you land early and the boat leaves later. The van from Tawau airport to the Semporna jetty is reported at about 75 minutes, and the Mabul speedboat adds about 45 to 60 minutes ^[1].
